How to Calibrate your laptop smart battery.
How to Calibrate your laptop smart bombardment. Hope this procedure will help you with keeping upwardly your battery health. i. Plug the Ac adapter into an electrical outlet and connect information technology to your laptop until battery is fully charged.
2. Once the bombardment is 100% charged click Start button, and then click Control Console.
3. Click Power Options, then create new ability programme past clicking Create a power plan.
four. Create new programme proper name such as Calibrate Battery, and then click Next.
five. Select the Never On battery value for Turn off the brandish, and Put the computer to sleep and and so click Create.
(This will prevent your notebook from turning off the display and inbound Slumber way to drain battery faster.)
6. Adjacent unplug AC adapter.
7. Select MP3 file with a fleck charge per unit of 128 kbps.
8. Set WMP to echo mode and start the MP3 file, and let the file run.
(brand sure volume is all the way down)
9. Allow the battery to discharge completely until the laptop turns off.
10. Plug in the AC adapter and restart your laptop, and charge battery fully.
This procedure should be done once a month to keep battery health up. Good luck, and enjoy!
Edit: thread name, should take been "smart battery calibration". Deplorable for the confusionTerminal edited by GottiBoi55; 09-20-2012 at 02:45 AM. Reason: To make things little more clear.

No Longer Works at ASUS Array
Battery calibration is something of an anachronism. It really hasn't been necessary for a long time. All you actually need to do these days is accuse it when it's low, dispose of the battery when it fails, the end.
And just and so yous don't fault my pregnant... Feel free to mail service things similar this if you recall there helpful, but if they happen to be role of the large quantities of outmoded "communication" floating effectually out in that location, someone may point it out. Then, don't accept it personally, just take it as an opportunity to learn something new.

Information technology was necessary with the one-time "dumb" batteries and the nimh/nicads. Modern lithium batteries practise smart charging, which eliminates the need for calibration.

What is Smart Battery Calibration? Repeated short discharges and recharges cause increasing inaccuracy between the country-of-charge of the battery and the Power Meter readings. Periodically, the bombardment needs to be calibrated to "relearn" its usable capacity so it can synchronize its charge status with the Power Meter. The calibration procedure maximizes the notebook run time by giving the user an authentic approximate of the remaining battery charge. Scale also prevents information loss that can occur during the Hibernation process if sufficient power is non available to complete critical save-to-disk operations.
Smart Batteries calibrate their FCC each time they undergo a full belch-charge cycle, whether they are recharged in the notebook or in a stand-solitary charger/conditioner. Calibration using the notebook is less convenient because it can take upwardly to four hours; notwithstanding, information technology tin atomic number 82 to more relevant results than using a stand-alone charger.
Calibration results using the notebook are more relevant because the battery relearns its FCC while undergoing a realistic power load. In a stand up-solitary charger, the bombardment is discharged using a fixed load. If the stock-still load is less than the load typically experienced past the notebook, the learned capacity of the battery may be college than its actual capacity. In other words, the newly calibrated battery may not deliver the run fourth dimension predicted by the Power Meter if it is subjected to a greater load than the load used to calibrate the battery.
The accuracy of today's Smart Battery enables precise calibration when the battery is discharged to nearly five% of its remaining capacity. Consequently, the user tin set the bombardment alarm at 5% of remaining capacity and then that the Smart Battery will calibrate its capacity during normal use.
The user but has to periodically discharge the bombardment until the 5% capacity alarm is received. The need to perform this procedure will vary with individual use. In general, a Li-Ion battery should be calibrated a minimum of once every iii months. A bombardment that is seldom discharged completely should be calibrated virtually once a month. Promise this will make things little more clear on "smart battery calibration"Final edited by GottiBoi55; 09-20-2012 at 02:29 AM.

BatteryBar constantly monitors the status of your bombardment every bit you use your laptop. Every bit information technology monitors your battery, it keeps historical data on your battery and provide you with a very accurate guess of how much time is remaining on your battery.
I simply utilise this http://osirisdevelopment.com/BatteryBar/
It does a good job on all the laptops so far.
